Inkbound Gaze - Manga style Comic Panel

This project began as a focused manga study and evolved into a small comic-panel-inspired artwork, created entirely in Blender.

My goal was to achieve a hand-drawn, manga-like look while still working within a 3D workflow. The eyes and face were developed using hand-painted textures directly in Blender, allowing me to control line weight, gradients, and tonal variation in a way that felt closer to traditional manga art.

Grease Pencil was used extensively for linework, eyelashes, hair elements, and comic panel outlines, blending 2D and 3D techniques to keep the final result expressive and stylized.

For the hair, I explored a lightweight Grease Pencil-based approach instead of rigging, using modifiers to introduce subtle motion and flow. Additional details, such as rain streaks and small facial accents, were added to support the mood without overcomplicating the scene.

A full process breakdown is available on my YouTube channel for anyone interested in the workflow.

Thanks for taking a look. Feedback is always welcome!
